Grist: So, why do we want President Obama and Secretary John Kerry to approve construction of the Keystone pipeline from Alberta to the Gulf of Mexico?
* Because it will allow Canada to double and then triple production of tar sands and send it to thirsty Asian consumers.
* Because it will encourage Wall Street to increase investment in tar-sands mining; they`re worried now that increased amounts of tar sands can`t get out of Canada without more pipeline capacity. All the other new pipeline routes...

Reuters: A major storm system is expected to dump heavy snow across parts of the Midwest on the first weekend of spring, while thunderstorms, large hail and even twisters could lash parts of the deep South, forecasters warned on Friday. Senate budget plan embraces Keystone XL approval

Reuters: The Senate easily passed on Friday a symbolic measure approving the Canada to Texas Keystone XL oil pipeline, a move backers said showed strong support for a bill that would give Congress power to green light the project later in the year.
The amendment to the budget plan, sponsored by Senator John Hoeven, a Republican from North Dakota, passed 62 to 37.
