Blue and Green: The US state is restricting water use for agriculture because of a devastating four-year drought, despite fears that the move could threaten the country’s food production.
The State Water Resources Control Board has announced that senior water right holders in California’s Sacramento, San Joaquin and delta watersheds won’t be allowed to pump water for agricultural use anymore, because of the drought.
According to the state’s water law, those holding water rights dating back to 1903 or later......
