Defining Green Economy May Stymie Rio Summit

Inter Press Service: The thematic battle at the U.N. Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) in Brazil next week will be primarily around the new concept of a "green economy" - and how best to define it. "If the green economy is clearly defined in a way that supports sustainable development without resorting to market-based experiments or techno-fixes, this will be a success," Alex Scrivener, policy officer at the London-based World Development Movement (WDM), told IPS.
