Guardian: As much as 2bn tonnes of food are wasted every year - equivalent to 50% of all food produced - according to a report published today by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IME) The IME estimate that 30-50% (1.2-2bn tonnes) of all food produced is "lost before reaching a human stomach".
