Telegraph: The study, commissioned by the Prince's Countryside Fund, revealed that 5 per cent of those who took part realised that the freezing conditions between January and April led to the deaths of more than 100,000 animals.
A quarter said they did not know what agriculture contributed to the British economy, while 58 per cent undervalued the income generated by the industry last year.
Almost 60 per cent of people responding to the survey said they believed farmers earned more than double the average......
