Pakistan: Experts may draw a nought on predicting drought

Bangalore Mirror: Looking back may no longer help predict future droughts, which would make it extremely difficult to estimate when the next one could occur. This, in turn, could affect the level of preparedness for such a threatening situation. A study by researchers from Bengaluru-based Indian Institute of Science (IISc) says the long-trusted historical data referred to by hydrologists and water resources managers may no longer help in reliably predicting droughts because of climate change caused by human activities.......
