Salinity in Bangladesh coastal aquifers `alarming´

Dhaka Tribune: Salinity intrusion into the aquifers of the country’s coastal districts has reached an alarming proportion due to unplanned use of groundwater in agriculture and seawater seeping into underground due to sea-level rise caused by global warming. “We’ve assessed the quality and quantity data of groundwater up to 1,100 feet deep in 19 costal districts.
